Through the years Leodocia, a truly lovely and
generous lady, has made numerous contributions to the class of 1954. This
painting was to be presented to her in recognition and thanks for those
contributions. It was to be a surprise, since she had agreed to host a
get together, at her lovely home in Bunkie, for the class of 54 during
the reunion. She is a paraplegic, and just prior to the reunion she was
involved in an accident while manipulating her chair on the ramp of her
vehicle. She fell off and broke her leg. She was unable to attend the
event at her home. This painting was unveiled at that event so that the
class members could see it. It was later presented to her at the nursing
home where she remains confined. This information
was provided by Rod Aymond.
