Margaret "Mrs. Peggy" Wilhelmena McCormick Valentine, born July 26, 1925, in Burlington, New Jersey, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Peggy, age 84, a resident of Bunkie, was preceded in death by her parents, Matilda and Russell McCormick ; her sister, Martha Doyle; her husband, Richard "Slim" Valentine, Jr. and her son, Richard "Ricky" Valentine, III. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl "Mrs. D" Hanscom of West Jefferson, NC and Bunkie; her four grandsons, Michael Daigrepont of New Orleans, Troy Daigrepont of Fairfax, VA, Jamie Daigrepont of Dallas, TX and Mark Daigrepont and his wife, Crystal of Virginia Beach, VA, along with their child, Mrs. Peggy's great granddaughter, Alaya, 20 months. Memorial services for Mrs. Peggy will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, Dec. 18, 2009 at Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie with Rev. Donald Johnson officiating. Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home from 11 am until service time on Friday.
