Daniel Glen Quirk
Daniel Glen Quirk, a resident of French Settlement, he died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at the age of 61. He graduated from Bunkie High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base and in Thailand in support of the Vietnam War. He worked most of his life in construction, including working for the family business, BGO Construction Co. Survived by his daughters, Michelle Hunter and Jenae Lacroix; son, Marty Quirk; grandchildren, Sadie Quirk and Collin Quirk; brother, W. Boyd Quirk Jr.; sisters, Sally Pugh and Debra Harper; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; aunt, Eloise Mounger; and uncles, Wilbur "Bill" Mounger and Ralph "Pete" Mounger. Preceded in death by his parents, William Boyd Quirk Sr. and Clothilde Mounger Quirk; brother, Dennis Platt Quirk Sr.; and nephew, Dennis Platt Quirk Jr. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Visitation at Bayou Rouge Baptist Church, Evergreen, on Saturday, Jan. 16, from noon until religious service at 1 p.m. Burial in church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bayou Rouge Baptist Cemetery or Hospice of Baton Rouge. The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Baton Rouge for their excellent care and support.
