Funeral services for Clara Hukins Cook will be at 10 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Fr. Jack Michalchuk officiating. Burial will be in the Pythian Cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Mrs. Cook, age 72, of Bunkie, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009 in HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital, Alexandria. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Cook.

Survivors include her two sons, Al Cook and his wife, Barbara of Denham Springs and Mel Cook and his wife, Susan of Cottonport; her sister, Barbara Slocum of Bunkie; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie from 4 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2009 with a Vigil of the Deceased service at 6 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2009. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anthony Catholic School - 116 S. Knoll Ave. - Bunkie, LA 71322.
