Charles Conrad Mixon

Funeral services for Charles Mixon will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Bunkie with the Rev. LaMon Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery in Bunkie. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
 
Mr. Mixon, age 93, of Bunkie, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2009 at the Bailey House in Bunkie.

He was a WWII Veteran of the Army Air Corp where he was designated MIA and a POW. He was also a recipient of the Purple Heart. In 1948 he and his brother Bill started the Mixon Bros. Buick Company where he was in business for 55 years. Mr. Mixon was also a local farmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Margaret Bubenzer Mixon; an infant son, Robert Mixon; and his three brothers, Thomas, Pete and Bill Mixon.

Survivors include his three sons; Conrad and his wife Rosemary Mixon, Thomas and his wife Donna Mixon, and Mark and his wife Barbara Mixon all of Bunkie; his seven grandchildren, Roxanne, Stacy, M'Lee, Debbie, Luke, Emily, and Molly; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Conrad Mixon, Thomas Mixon, Mark Mixon, Luke Mixon, James Mixon and Billy Mixon.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Bunkie.
