Funeral services for Beth
Lorraine Vannoy Cheek will be at 11:00 am, Saturday,
Jan. 9, 2010 in the Morrow Baptist Church with Rev. Bob
Braly officiating. Burial will follow in the church
cemetery, under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home,
Bunkie. Mrs. Cheek, age 76, of Big Cane, passed away on
Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 in Opelousas General Hospital.
She had retired as a secretary with the St. Landry
School Board. She was preceded in death by her husband,
William A. Cheek; sister, Glynn Johnson; a brother,
Benny J. Vannoy and her parents, Joel A. and Berta Lee
Vannoy. She is survived by two sons, William "Bill"
Cheek and his wife, Janice, of Lecompte and Vance G.
Cheek of Lecompte; three grandchildren, Kristen and Nick
Mikulas of Alexandria, Shane and Kimberly Cheek of
Lecompte and Nikki and Joshua Jaques of Woodworth; eight
great grandchildren; one sister, Anita Goudeau of Boyce
and a special friend, Charles Gremillion of Bunkie.
Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie on Friday, Jan. 8, 2010 from 4 pm - 9 pm. Visitation will be at Morrow Baptist Church on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 from 9 am - 10:45 am. Please share sympathies, memories and condolences with the Cheek family at www.melanconfunerals.com .
