Things that come to mind. The memories of cotton trailers
parked next to our home preparing for the trip to the gin. My
Mother fixing a fried egg sandwich for my journey to the back of the
cotton field. Watching my Dad on his tractor go back and forth
plowing, planting, picking, cutting. Granny and Liz cooking the
best home-made bread and crêpes I have ever eaten. Cooking in Dub's
make-shift oven made in the side of a dirt cliff at his house.
Playing football every Sunday in someone's yard/pasture. Walking
past the 3-way station at night after my visits to Sandra's house and
listening to the bobcats scream (try it sometime). Having
the overwhelming and exhilarating accelerating
experience of riding in a car with Pete Riche!!!
