"As we head into the fall season,  Bunkie will have interesting things coming up in the next few months.  A movie crew will be around for the next few weeks.  They will be filming the movie "My Own Love Song" staring Renee Zellweger and Forest Whitaker.  The company will be looking for extras,  so interested people need to check dates for sign up.  Every other Saturday,  vendors for the farmers market are set up under the trees next to the depot.  You can find, Ruth's Tamales,  John Dauzat's Cracklins,  baked goods, and  arts & crafts of all kinds.  We'd like to thank Lorella Ducote for taking care of this event.  She takes care of this project by herself and does a good job. 
 
The Rotary Bunkie Christmas Parade will be held on December 13 and we hope to have the Farmers Market that day also with holiday arts and crafts. We are looking for vendors and there is no booth fee.  On December 20,  the Rotary Club will host the Doll & Toy Fund.  This  project is funded by donations.  Please be generous this holiday season and help with this project.
 
The Bunkie Garden Club is sponsoring "Light up for Crime Awareness"  on 10/14/08.  They are asking everyone to turn on their lights between 7pm - 10pm to show their support
 
The chamber does advertising on our digital signs, so if you are interested call our office.  The chamber also takes part in the Rural Development Loan program for businesses in Bunkie.  These are loans that are made at low interest rates for small businesses to improve or better their business venture.  For more information call 346-2575.
