The Bunkie Chamber writes:
" Aw Shucks….it’s that time again! Time to get start working on the Louisiana Corn Festival T-shirt Design Contest. Are you a creative person? Do you like to draw? Well then, we surely have the “corniest” drawing contest you have ever seen. The Louisiana Corn Festival Committee is looking for designs for their 2008 Louisiana Corn Festival T-shirt. This T-shirt will represent the festival as it promotes the festival state wide. It will also represent the festival at the Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals Convention, in February, as the official Corn Festival T-shirt Competition entry. We are using the LAFF Convention theme for our T-shirt design this year, “Love, Peace and Corn.” Please brainstorm and create your design with that in mind.Bunkie will host the 22nd Annual Louisiana Corn Festival and we are looking for an incredible design to promote this incredibly family-oriented festival. The artist who designs our shirt will be introduced at the festival pageant, ride in the festival parade, and have the honor of having their signature on over 1500 shirts worn by people around our state and many others. Rules for the competition are as follows:
1. The design may be presented in a drawn format at the size of 12” x 12”. These designs must be mailed to P. O. Box 70, Bunkie, LA 71322 or delivered to the Bunkie Chamber of Commerce in Bunkie. 2. The design may also be presented in a Jpeg format to the following email address: Letabug260@aol.com . Please keep the design in a square format. 3. The following colors must be used: green and yellow for the corn, but any other colors may be used. No more than a total of 6 colors. 4. The shirt will most probably be printed on a colored shirt, so take that in consideration when you create your design. The committee will decide what color the shirt will be. 5. The following information must appear on the shirt: “Love, Peace and Corn”, “Aw Shucks”, 22nd Annual Louisiana Corn Festival, Bunkie, LA, and the dates June 13th - 15th, 2008. 6. Deadline for receipt of all designs is Friday, December 21st, 2007. 7. Artist’s signature must be on the design somewhere. 8. The T-shirt committee has the right to change something if needed in the printing process of the shirts. 9. The finished T-shirt design becomes the property of the Louisiana Corn Festival and will be used in the promotion of the 2008 LA Corn Festival.
