Well,  the 20th Annual Louisiana Corn Festival is just two weeks away.  We have a fun filled weekend planned for the whole family.  The residential and business decoration contest will take place June 2.  Entry forms are at the Depot call and I will bring you one or mail it.  We hope everyone will show their Yellow and Green Pride and let visitors to our city know we are celebrating the Corn Festival.

Opening Ceremony is Friday the 9th at 5:00, Corn Farmer of the Year will be announced and we will have the Second Annual Children's Wagon Parade.  Following the parade will be the Lizard Races, Carnival will open with a bracelet night for $12.00, Food and Arts & Craft Booths open and the Southern Bayou Band will start to play at 6:00 with Bayou Katz coming on at 8:30.

Saturday will be the city wide parade at 11:00 contests start at 12:30 Individual Cooking Contest will be from 3:00 to 5:00.  Voodoo Chili starts playing at 5:00 and Barry Badon and the Bayou Boys will come on at 8:00.

The search is on for the "Corn Idol". The Talent Contest will take place Sunday at 11:00.  Bingo will be played from 1:00 to 4:00 and Dollar Short will start playing after the Talent Contest. If you want to cool off in the Bayou the Pirogue Races will be at 1:00.  Festival will close at 4:00.  So make your plans to join us and plan on having a "Corn Shucking" good time.
