There is a lot going on in Bunkie these days. 

If anyone is wondering,  all the work around the depot is the second part of the grant, landscaping.  There will be a sign in the front of the depot and with all the contributions from everyone, we have enough money to make it digital.  Now
we will have a constant community calendar and advertiser. 

There will be arbors, sidewalks and landscaping across the street.  At the north and south entrance to town,  there will be Welcome to Bunkie signs.  We are definitely looking good. 

The beautiful 2007 Louisiana Corn Festival T-shirts are on sale.  This year's designer is Miss Casey Desselle of Cottonport.  The prices are $10.00 Youth Sizes  $12.00 Adult Small to Xlarge  $15.00  XXl.  If you wish to order one send your check with an additional $3.00 per shirt to P.O. Box 70 Bunkie, La. 71322 and I will be happy to mail you one.  They are a beautiful royal blue and the design is on the back and it is really great.

The Louisiana Corn Festival Queen's pageant for ages 5-23 was held on April 28th and we have seven beautiful queens, look for their pictures on the website.  This year the Niblet and Mister Kernel Pageant will be held on Sunday at the festival at 1:30.  It is open to the state so grandmas get your grandbabies registered. 

The Corn Festival is coming up fast and we have a great weekend planned for everyone.  So plan on having a Corn Shucking good time."
