There will be a BHS REUNION on
April 21 and 22 celebrating the 50th anniversary of the class
of 1956 - with invited classes of 1955 and 1957. Registration
will be in the lobby of the Bailey Hotel both days. Friday night
, it will be "dinner on your own" with dancing to 50's music later
in the evening in Zanga's Lounge in the Bailey.
Saturday morning at 10 AM
the group will meet at Pythian Cemetery for a time to walk and
share memories of our loved ones buried there. At noon we will go
to the Dugout/Rocky's for a 50's hamburger lunch, complete with
curly-q potatoes and a bottle Coke ( typical 50's date fare !!)
Saturday night, we will
enjoy a sumptuous meal in the Magnolia Room at the Bailey
Hotel. The common denominator for this group remains to be our
love for Bunkie and for Louisiana. Our speakers will be Mayor
Gerard Moreau and Senator Don Hines, who will walk us through some
of the catastrophic events of Hurricanes Katrina/Rita.
Additionally, Lynette Stokes Clarke will update us on the "Bunkie
Beautiful" project. After dinner, there will again be dancing to
50's music in Zanga's Lounge.
In addition to all of this, John
Stagg - class of '56- (who has a publishing business in Texas)
is printing and binding books for the class, complete with
information on each '56 graduate. There will also be a section
dedicated to the deceased members of our class.
THEN , our good friend A.W.
Knaps, has agreed to be present and take candid shots
throughout the weekend, compiling them into CDs and DVDs. We will
take orders at the registration desk and in typical AW generosity,
he will be selling them at no profit-- only for his supplies.
If there are others who wish to
attend, they could contact me at 318-442-2304 or Carmen_Roy @msn.com
There may be some slots available.
