Dear Bunkien - Remember V-J Day

We are long overdue in sending out this kind of Tattler.  We hope you had a chance to send in your blurb; if not, send it now.  We'll piggyback this Tattler when we assemble more input and send another out soon.

In Memory of Richard Duffy Billeaud, Sr. 3/16/1939 - 8/3/2010

I would be chastised to no end if I did not commemorate our 42nd wedding anniversary Sandra and I celebrated on August 10th.  Also, we celebrated 12 years of bunkie.com on August 10th.  To achieve both of these momentous occasions, we had to work at it.  I'm Just Saying...  Thank all of you for your kind words and encouragement.

Return from duty: "Dale:  Share with us in a prayer of thanksgiving at a "Celebration of God's Blessing" for the safe return home to Washington, D.C. of our son, James Menard Christian, Jr. after his completion of a combat tour of duty in Iraq.  Family and friends will gather from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at our home in Washington to thank God for Chris' safe return and to mark completion of his four-years of service with the United States Army.  James M. Christian, Sr."  God Bless America;  God Bless James, Jr.

Tattler #1:  It is way too ironic the first Tattler blurb come from me, but I must, we must, thank the many Bunkiens both local and worldwide who have contributed to bunkie.com.  Whether it be great Intel you gathered or operating funds, you know who you are and we thank you.  You bought tees, you bought software, you sent money from nowhere, you took pictures, you wrote stories.  There are many of you; You know who you are and we thank you.

Tattler #2:  John and Martha Haydel have been staunch silent sponsors of bunkie.com since day one.  In 1999 at the CornFest, as I wondered around hoping someone would recognize me....yea, fat chance,  John and his beautiful bride Martha, came up to me and tried to negotiate the purchase of my LA Cornfest cap.  We have been friends since.  John and Martha celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Alaska of which they would like to share story and pictures with you.  Please go their page...

Tattler #3:  Jim and Maggi Courville recently sent in story and pictures from their trip to Eygpt.  I asked Jim how did he manage to marry such a young woman...  I have not heard from Jim since.  Please go to Jim Maggi's page.

Tattler #4:  Chris Armand has always been kind and generous toward bunkie.com and has never asked for anything in return.  In celebration of the Moose & Dot LaCombe 50th wedding anniversary we share this page with you.  Please go to the Moose and Dot page.

Tattler #5:  Teresa Tebow sent this in response to our most recent Tattler.  "Celeste Tebow, formerly of Bunkie, who now lives in Longview, Texas, was with her her uncle Steve, when he passed away on June 16, 2010. Steve Adams, brother of Celeste's mom, Teresa Tebow, passed away after a brief battle with lung cancer. Steve, age 68, is survived by his wife, Nancy T. Adams who suffers from M.S. and one daughter, Monica, of Austin, Texas.  Nancy has moved to Austin to be with her daughter, son-in-law and their three precious sons. Tattler #6:  Ed Dugas sends greetings from the www.EvergreenLA.org web site.  Ed has been instrumental--no, let me rephrase that.  Ed has been the major mover and shaker of the e-green web site in more ways than one.  From conception to it's current state of being, Ed has hand tooled every aspect of this great web site.  Please go there and check it out.  Also Little Flower Church Fair Is Scheduled for Sept. 11 & 12.

Tattler #7:  St. Anthony Church & School is trying to update its Alumni database.  We are having trouble finding all of the graduates from the school over the past 70 years.  Can you post something this week stating that?  A visitor could contact John or Bonnie at the rectory: 318-346-7274.  Thank you for any help you can give.  Peace, John Wiltse St. Anthony Church

Tattler #8:  Facebook; Yes...
