Dear Bunkien - Corn Festival June 11,12,13, 2010
Once again the Louisiana Corn Festival upon us. Phyllis sends
the following note.
"There will be a whole lot of shucking going on this weekend in
Bunkie. The
24th Annual Louisiana Corn Festival will be held on the grounds
of the Haas
Auditorium. There will be over 40 Arts & Craft and Food
Vendors, Mitchell
Bros. Carnival, contests, 5K Run and a softball tournment with
16 teams
from around the country.
Opening Ceremonies will be on Friday at 5:00 pm. Corn Farmer of
the year will be Wayne Lutz who will also be the Grand Marshall
of the citywide parade on Saturday at 11:00 am. Friday night
Black Magnolia will start the street dance at 6:00 pm and
NikLBeer continues the music from 9:00 pm til midnight.
On Saturday, Static will begin playing at 6:00 pm and they will
be followed by Louisiana Fiya at 9:00 pm til midnight. You will
find something for the entire family with carnival pay one price
all three days.
Our festival is one of the few free festivals left in the state,
so join us as all rows lead to Bunkie."
