I
was 7 and lived on Oak St. when we got the Pearl Harbor news. The rush of
insecurity ran through my family, especially since my cousin was there on the
Arizona. As a child, I felt it strongly.
I had that same feeling return Tuesday. But as an adult, I now think of my
children and grandchildren and wonder what kind of world I have brought them
into. I pray we can get through this and lead the world in a better
understanding of tolerance. Only God can bring people together.
BTW my cousin was reported killed in action. But in January, we received a hand
written letter from him dated in January. He had gotten through with only some
small burns.
